I nostri canti tradizionali natalizi
In Italia ci sono due famosi canti tradizionali di Natale, che celebrano la nascita di Gesù: uno è “ Quando nascette ninno”, ed è in napoletano, scritto nel 18° secolo da Sant'Alfonso Maria de Liguori, allora vescovo di Sant'Agata dei Goti, un antico borgo in provincia di Benevento.
Da questo canto deriva “Tu scendi dalle stelle”, il più famoso canto natalizio italiano.

Our traditional Christmas songs
In Italy there are two most popular Christmas songs, celebrating Jesus' birth. One is “Quando nascette Ninno”, written in the 18th century in Neapolitan language by Sant'Alfonso Maria de Liguori, at the time bishop of Sant'Agata dei Goti, an ancient hilltown in the province of Benevento.
From this song was inspired the composition of “Tu scendi dalle stelle”, perhaps the most famous italian Christmas song. We are pleased to propose a video, in which both songs are performed by children, the first one as a solo accompanied by bagpipes, and the second by a children's choir.
